A/C update/ extend your warranty!!!! S70

As several of you may already know from my recent entries to the extended warranty thread, I'm in the shop today getting a dye test on my A/C system. I assumed any problems (leaks) at this point would be associated with the Evaporator and I would need to have the system charged to get me a few months or so down the road. Wrong!! They discovered a High pressure hose (??) that was leaking profusely just behind the airdam. Parts will cost about $250 and labor $250.

Also, inspection of the evaporator is not completely possible. Evidently, there is a 2" inspection hole at the bottom and unless the leak is profuse they won't be able to see any potential problems with the evaporator. So, the system will be charged after this repair and the evaporator will be a future concern. Any alternative ideas out there?

I still can not fathom how it's possible that a car with only 44K miles on it could have problems like this. Between recent ABS problems and this A/C issue, I have spent exactly what it would cost to extend my warranty, all withing two months of expiration!!! If I replace the evaporator, double that.

If you are a smart Volvo owner extend your warranty or deal with the pain. If you have an extended warranty and haven't used it yet, don't feel bad, at least you're sleeping at night.
