3rd Row seat: pros & cons 850

I'm thinking of putting a 3rd row seat in my 850 wagon (1996). I'm wondering if those of you who have this option already find that it is a worthwhile addition. I have 3 kids, but it seems that one of them always has a friend along on weekends, and since they are too small to sit in the passenger seat due to the airbag, a 3rd row seat seems to be a logical solution. Also, what are your thoughts on the safety aspect of the 3rd row seat? Thanks in advance for your opinions.
