Scorched Seat 850 1994

Straight from Click and Clack. On my way to work this morning I flipped on the seat heater and immediately smelled burning foam. My friends at work told me this was covered on Car Talk recently. Turned it off and took it apart when I got home. Found a burn hole where one of the wires in the element broke. I am going to replace the element and patch the burn hole with a piece of foam from an upholstery or craft store. Any tips on replacing the element? Thanks in advance.
