Flame Trap 850 1993

A clogged flame trap can cause excessive crankcase pressure. This will sometimes manifest itself by blowing out the dipstick, or worse, by causing a failure of the rear main seal. Good explanation on the OzBrick page. Nothing much to do at this point except inspect for oil leaks, and clean the flame trap routinely in the future. The fix if your rear main seal is leaking is, of course, not cheap. Good luck.
