Rear main seal job coming up- what else can/should be done? 850 1996

Hi folks, got bad news/good news today from my independent mechanic. Bad news is that I have a rear main seal leak, in additon to a turbo return line leak (which was fixed just 20K ago but that's another bitch). Good news is that both problems should be covered under my VIP extended warranty when I take it to the dealer next week. Woo hoo! Say what you want about what a cheesy policy it is, but I had the evaporator and compressor and a bad caliper replaced all under warranty. Now a new problem that should cost me squat.

Anyway, here is my question: I know that the rear main seal job is quite involved, and a lot of the engine and/or tranny will be removed getting to it. While this job is being done, what do you all recommend I also have done in terms of a) diagnostics and b) preventative maintenance? In other words, fill in this blank: since you're having the rear main seal done, you should probably also..._________________"

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
