Remving the roof rack V70-XC70 1998

Greetings all,
Does anyone know how to remove the factory roof rack on an XC ? I found the attaching hardware no problem but when the rack is removed there are big holes in the roof weatherstrip sections. I am wondering what it takes to commplete the job - new weatherstrip sections ?
