You know your Cat. Converter is bad when... 850 1994

Is there a sure-fire way to determine if you cat. converter is bad?

I smell the strong rotten egg smell, it's sluggish, and I'm getting strange occasional codes (1-4-3, 4,3,1)...

The performance is sluggish after I reset the codes, and then once the CEL comes on again, it seems to improve but is still far less spry than 6 months ago...

By the way...

1994 Volvo 850 Turbo
102,000 miles

I put on new vacuum hoses and a new 02 sensor up front, but that rotten egg smell out back, persists, and the car just feel slow.

Thanks,

Shawn
