Ride harshness? 850 1996

BMW's are not jittery by any means. I have a '95 540 6 speed w/H&R Spings and Bilstien sport shocks the car rides firmly. You are aware of big cracks in the rode, but that suspension that the rest of the industry it still trying to copy absorbs and disappates the energy from bumps very well. Where as my wife's S70 AWD rides rough in comparision. I've had it in twice to the dealer to ask about the shocks because I think they must be broken. They say they are fine and that they are operating the way they should. I would be ok with this if the car handled well but it doesn't. I'd say it's average in the handing departent - no better than a Taurus in my opinion. But it is the safest car my family could be in and my wife loves it, so it stays.
