Rearview mirror snapped off. V70-XC70

Yes my 1998 V70 interior mirror has been stiff to adjust at the ball joint ever since I have owned the car (purchased new). See my post "loose mirror" from about two days ago. Dealer said I just had a stiff mirror so I learned to live with it.

Now that I have two teens also driving my V70, my mirror's mount is working loose where the arm fastens to the car frame. It gets repositioned about 3 times a day.

My local dealer can replace my mirror for $110.00. I think I can free up the ball joint myself if I can remove the mirror from the car.

Do you know what holds the plastic trim above the mirror in place? The trim that houses the courtesy and map lights and their switches. This trim also hides the mirror mount.
