rotor replacement question 850

How many miles do you have? Rear pads last about twice as long
as front and the rear rotors last a long time.

Front rotors are good for about 2 sets of front pads (my actual
experience with one car and I measured the rotor wear myself and
found them undersize right before 2nd set of front pads needed
replacement).

The rotors can be easily measured and that determines if they need
replacement. If they are close, then replace (since they would go
undersize with the next set of pads). An 97 with 60 to 70K probably
needs new front rotors but not new rear rotors (rear pads would be
about ready to replace). All generalizations since pad wear varies
by how the car is used and driven.
