turbo failure V70-XC70 1998

I recently (November) bought a certified pre-owned 1998 XC. I noticed a leak on the driveway shortly after bringing it home. Called the dealer and they suggested putting some paper underneath to see if it leaked overnight-they said probably it was just some oil that had splattered on the engine while changing the oil while they were getting my car ready for delivery. A few months pass and I stll notice a leak(graveldriveway in winter-I am in denial) I take it to the dealer for them to check last week and they tell me its the turbo seal that needs to be replaced. Icome back to get the turbo seal replaced and they call to tell me the turb itself needs to be replaced. They act as if this like changing the air filter because it is under warranty- to me it is an ominous indication of a lemon. The car has only 40k miles. Any suggestions.? Is it reasonable for the turbo to crap out so soon? Thanks
