My own 850 cupholder solution 850 1996

Under the subject of high-performance upgrades: I decided recently that I just could no longer use the crappy cupholders that slide out from the armrest in my brick. As we all know, they are way too small and are precariously located over the window switches. So while at the dealer recently I noticed they had on sale (for $17.00 each, the same price you can buy them anytime through volvoparts.com) these heavy duty cupholders that are designed for the extra seat area in the V70 wagon. The Volvo part number is 9499223. I bought two of them and installed them in the front driver and passenger door panels. They pop open just like the ones that IPD sells for $40 each, but are of a much more sophisticated design.

The aesthetics are admittedly debatable- even in the closed postion these suckers are pretty good sized, and unfortunately they are only come in black. But I think I will get used to them in time, and if you are a highway warrior looking for something to hold your big gulp this might be something for you to look into.
