Check Your Gas Filler Pipe 850

My 855 R has what appears to be an aluminum gas filler pipe. Anyway the gas station gas pump nozzle has over the years pushed up a small lip on the inside of the filler pipe. That small lip interfered with the gas cap sealing and caused the check engine light to come on. To remove the lip, I shoved a rag into the fill pipe and taped up the paintwork in the area. (files love paint) I then took a very small file and, pulling the file from the inside of the pipe outward, smoothed out the filler opening. TA DA no more sealing problems. I haven't pulled a code in months.

I highly recommend checking your gas filler pipe next time you put gas in.

QUESTION: Has anyone ever tried the "PERMACAP" that is sold by IPD. I was thinking about getting one to avoid this problem in the future.
