OBD II Code Mystery 850 1997

I have a '97 850 GLT. The check engine light has come on 3 times now and each time there is no code stored. I reset it and it will be fine for a week or two. The service light is also on. Could this cause the check engine light to come on wihout a code. It is driving me crazy. Any other things cuse it to come on without a code?
