Mystery beeps and 'Alert!' message S80

HU-801 is a radio basically developed for the European market. In Europe they use a digital service called "RDS" (Radio Data Service). This radio have RDS integrated, even though its not yet common in US.

I know a few radio stations today that use some RDS functions, mostly to display their station names in the display.

"Alarm" is one of the RDS services, and I guess that the alarm signal is accidently broadcasted from any nearby FM radiostation that test the RDS service. Sometimes they maybe not even know what they are broadcasting, since the RDS data its not heard on a regular radio (without RDS).

Anyway, its probably nothing wrong with you car or radio.
It the sound disturbs you, maybe you can downgrade to another radio HU-611 which does not have the RDS (Note: also CD-changer and Dolby is missing)
