Radio & Octane - Two Questions 850 1994

My brick is a 1994 850 Turbo wagon, and I have two questions:

1. I would like to replace the factory radio (cassette, no CD player/changer) with a CD player I purchased for my previous car. I understand that the factory model is also used to enter the anti-theft code, if I replace the factory player with my own, will that pose any problems for anti-theft feature?

2. I have seen that people recommend a higher octane fuel (89 vs. 87), the thing is that, I live in Iowa, the 89 octane is an ethanol blend. Is an ethanol blend good for my brick? Or should I just use the 87 octane rating?
