Oil replacing 400

Not in europe though. It's unusual here to use the very short intervals 3 to 5000miles) that seem popular in the US.

More recent cars use a 9500 or 12000 mile (soon 15000miles) change interval and hardly anyone ever changes it sooner. Synthetic is not used in most 'regular' cars.

The manufacturers usually only reccommend a shorter interval for cars that do a lot of towing and taxis.

Oil (like gasoline) is not cheap here :(
