Tapping lifters harm engine? 850 1996

My lifters are tapping pretty noticeably after changing to Mobil-1 5w30 synthetic. I think this is the reason it started, will it harm my engine to run it hard(Autocross event) with the lifters tapping? I plan on changing my oil to 10w30 synthetic before then, is this a good idea?

Thanks guys, need to know if I worry too much sometimes.
