3' vs. 2.5' Downpipe Performance 850 1996

I had my downpipe custom made from a performance mod shop in the area. I have run a couple chips in my car, as well as stock programming. And so far, I am dissatisfied. The most hp I've ever been able to make is 240 BHP at the wheels, and 281 ft. lbs. But to get there, my mileage started to SUCK really bad. And when I passed the car over to my dad for a 98' Maxima SE 5 spd, I decided to reset the programming. I'm going to give the programming route one more time this season (working with some Formula SAE engineers soon). On stock programming, I get about 222 BHP at the wheels, and about 245 ft. lbs with the exhaust, a mitsu wastegate (can't remember the model), an open element air intake, and AMSOIL in the engine and tranny (it's actually good for about 3-5 hp and ft. lbs over some other lubes.

Yes we do have emissions in Canada. And I pass them with flying colours. I'm not EVEN close to the limits. As long as you run a good cat, good O2 sensors, and don't mess with the engine management too much, it should pass easily. If it doesn't, someone screwed up somewhere.
