trans flush 850

I have one quick question and I assume it really depends on when you shut off the engine when you see the bubbles but can some tell me approx how many quarts or part of a quart you need to add after the final flush to bring it up to a level where you can put the car thru the gears and then do the topping up fill? Ie. After I have flushed the trans and reconnected the hose how much should I put in and then run the trans thru the gears. I noticed when I drained only the trans oil from the drain plug last time and filled it with some fluid but not enough it gave me a warning light.
Also, how many quarts should I have on hand, 18 or 24? Thanks ken
