windsheild replacement 850 1995

I have just gone down that path.Price from the dealer is $850.cdn.$500.u.s.The volvo glass will have all the black-out material just like the original windshield .Aftermarket does not according to two suppliers I called. What is most different is you want to make sure they use the volvo caulking which is about $120. per tube!Very sticky stuff ,the installer has only one shot at it.The windshield is designed to be part of the safety cage so you may not want it to pop out because someone spent 5.95 on silicone. The other area that might be a concern is, I have heard of some glass shops damaging or not wanting to be responsible for damage to trim.Hope this helps a little.
