95 850 - AC issues 850

Ok, I now know that a repair on the shitty evaporator that VOLVO put in my 850 is subject to failure with or without the HEPA add-on. Don't know about the rest of you, but the idea of having my dash ripped out gives me the creeps. I'll have it fixed once, but after reading that many BRICKERS have had this repair done NUMEROUS times, makes me shutter with fear. I won't give VOLVO the satisfaction of having to buy their inferior parts.

I've read on this board that other companies are making the evap in other metals. Like bronze or copper?! These would seem like stronger metals than aluminum.

Has anyone out there done this repair with another manufacturers parts? Are you having success?

Thanks,

Dan
