s70 leaking/using oil - too much pressure-??? S70 1998

Are you sure the oil is from the oil filter? I would not expect a leak
there (if you left an old gasket on and have two gaskets then maybe).
The oil pump is in that area and have been known to leak a bit (the fix
is to pull out each of the oil pump cover's screws, one by one, and
put them back using a gasket). So, leaky screws might not explain
a quart of oil per 2500 miles but might be the source of some leaking
oil.

As mentioned, a quart in 2500 is not unheard of. You might fix the
leak and still find the consumption about the same.

Also check the cap where you pour oil in. It has a gasket and they
sometimes need replacing. An oil leak there might be going under the
black plastic cover.
