power at 5500 rpm and brake pedal position 850

I drive a 850 t5r with some 120 000 kms on the clock. I've noticed the following and would like to know if this means my wastegate rod is to short.

The car accelarates from about 2800 rpm . I can't realy say that there is any hesitation or less acceleration at 5000 but when it hits 5500 rpm it's like a vtec getting it's second breath. Is this normal?

Secondly when braking what is the pedal position relative to accelerator. Mine stops a 1 centimeter below the accelerator, is this ok or 2 low?

Thx

Andries
