Volvo Vadis CD's. Need some info.

My brother owns a small shop specializing in Volvos. He took the big bite and subscribed to Volvos WISP (web-based manuals) and is really not all that pleased with it but it's apparently the only game in town.

I have seen Vadis CD's for sale. He doesn't have and can't afford a Vadis box. Any idea if the CD's will "stand alone" on a PC dedicated for such things? I read in the archives and found a discussion on this and one person said that it might be possible with some "massaging". We understand that we won't be able to connect to the "mother ship" but can we get service manual info off these CD's?

We're willing to give it a try. Anyone shed any light?
Dean
