Air pump? S70 1998

Hi folks! Just a quick question. The air pump on my 98 s70t5 went and from what I understand this is a common problem. When I first found out I figured my extended (7yrs/100k) warranty would cover it. (the warranty is through Buyer's Choice Inc) However, upon initially speaking to them they were unsure of whether this part would be covered. After much "investigation" they determined it to be an "emissions" part, which my BUMPER TO BUMPER warranty did NOT cover. I was just wondering if they were telling me the truth and if they unfortunatly were, do you know of anyway to get around their trivial classification so they may pay for this repair? I heard from someone that it had something to do with the fuel injection system, but its all Greek to me. Thanks in advance for all of your help and advice.
