Air pump? S70 1998

This may not be along the lines of your post, but are you sure it's the pump? I had CEL and codes pointing to the system's malfunction but after testing the pump was fine. It was the control valve ($100) that failed and was not closing allowing water vapour from exhaust to freeze the pump. And the end result was still the same, frozen pump was not running triggering CEL.
