Leather care - Connolly Hide Food OK for newer cars? S70

I have read past postings recommending Connolly Hide Food for leather care. My 98 S70 is very low mileage and the leather is almost as new and I was looking into importing some Hide Food for myself (it's not available here).

This appears on one of the websites selling it:

"Connolly Hide Food - Well established conditioning cream from Connolly Leather - recommended on older plain coloured leathers pre 1980 ( Not suitable for new, antique or two-toned leathers ) - 11oz."

Why "older" and "pre-1980"? Any first hand experience - good or bad - with CHF on a newer Volvo? Should I be looking at something else rather?

With thanks
