Two questions about my 'new' V40. S40-V40 1999

Hi to all.
I've two questions about my "new" V40 (three years old, 60000 km) with 1.6 petrol engine.

The main problem is that my car can't accelerate at low/medium rpm: between
1500 and 2500 rpm when I press the accelerator the car "jump" as I was at 800 rpm (but without any particular noise).

Else, if I always use a "low" gear, (that is I stay between 2500 and 4000 rpm in every gear) the car seems to go fine.

I suppose tihs is NOT normal, because it's a quite expensive kind of driving and also because I must go back to first gear when the speed is under 10 km/h and this is very annoying.

Has anyone any suggestion about?

Another question is about the passenger front seat.
I know that is possible to adjust it in height but the Haynes manual does not say how. Anyone has some tricks about?

Thanks in advance

Marco
