CD Changer Locations 850 1994

Last summer when we purchased our '95 850 wagon, we negotiated a CD changer as part of the deal.At the time Volvo had a special on changers.

The changer went in the glove box because our car is a wagon.

Recently I had the glove box out to disconnect the glove box light switch which was acting up.

When the technician installed the changer all they did was to cut a 1" hole in the back of the box in the proper location (right behind the connector on the changer) and add a bracket on the inside of the box which was bolted to a brace on the outside of the box.

The cable is padded with foam material and is long enough to allow me to pull the changer forward and unplug it. The plug has a locking mechanism that must be squeezed when unplugging. The cable travels to the left, toward the radio.

Upon further review, perhaps the wagons are prewired to the glove box.
