my sunroof is messed up 850

well, the past week or so, my sunroof was working, but when i opened it, it would open about HALFWAY or maybe a bit less than halfway and then make this thud and just stop.

today i decided to open it and at the same time push on it...and it opened FULLY!!!!

when i decided to close it later, it closed 85% but then THUD and now it wont close fully.

i checked out if there is anything obstructing the pathway for its movement, and there isn't.

but what i DID find is a PIECE that seems to be broken off it or something..im not sure if this piece is part of the WH0LE sunroof, or if it is supposed to be seperate as part of the railing.

it runs on the railing, and has a shape something like this:

----------------------------------------
/
/
-------------------------------------J

hahaaha, well the "J is supposed to resemble a CURVE...the curve that is on the railing, when the sunroof pulls all the way forward.

anyone have any tips? im a student short on cash and i dont wanna replace the whole thing for no reason....is this a separate PART then? or something that broke off the rest of it?

any help would be greatly greatly appreciated

cheers
