Pirelli P6 tires S60 2002

I've just purchased an S60 AWD with Pirelli P6 17" tires. I've only had the car for 5 weeks and it only has 1350 miles on it.

Yesterday I noticed a bubble on the sidewall on the front dirver's side. I took the car to the dealer to have them look at it and evaluate if this was a safety issue. They told me I had to get it replaced immediately. Seems like I'm seeing quite a few complaints about these tires.

We've had a pretty mild winter around here so there isn't much in the way of potholes this year. And I know that I did not hit anything like a pothole or a curb. The dealer inspected the tire/rim for any sign of an impact and could find none. The tire dealer more or less just blew me off and said I would have to pay for a new tire and try to get Pirelli to reimburse me.

Seems like these tires are a little too sensitive to normal road driving.

Anyone have any good suggestions on a replacement tire that handles pretty well in the rain/snow but still gives a comfortable quite ride and is less problematic?

If I continue to have a problem with these tires, I will be replacing them even though they are brand new. Don't need the hassle and want a good reliable/safe tire.

thanks in advance....
