Door pops 850

It seems like you and a lot of other 850 owners (myself included) have this problem. I was also told by the body shop that it is a weld and that it is around 150 to repair. I've decided to not open the door all the way, thereby avoiding it. When ready, it'll go to the shop & get fixed. For a long time I thought it was only our car, but after reading these boards, I see it is a very common thing. It's a shame Volvo won't fix it, since it seems to be widespread.
