Tranny fluid (again...) 850

After reviewing many previous threads regarding changing transmission oil, I decided to do or have mine done. I had pretty much decided to use the pressurized machin approach (Bay 13) and have it done. I call my local Volvo dealer and the service guy tells me that they don't change fluid because "Volvo doesn't recommend it" and says it could "disturb anything in there and create problems".
Anyone have a comment? Should i just do it myself using the drain/start/stop/drain method?
