Extremely Rough Cold Idle 850 1996

Can you tell me where to look for the throttle switch? I took off a plastic cover that was over the throttle cable where it attaches to a pulley, but didn't see anything. But then again, I don't really know what I'm looking for. My Haynes manual doesn't mention the throttle body or switch. If you can let me know where to look, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks! Joe
