About to purchase '97 850GLT wagon - Questions on tires & etc. 850 1997

Hi,

I'm about to purchase '97 850GLT wagon, and have following questions.

- Anything I should look for before/after the purchase? It's got 83k miles. Drives very well, but no service records. Is that common?
- How long do you think it'll last, comparable to 240/940's?
- What size tires did it come with when brand new (if you remember that far back)?
- What tired do you recommend for quiet, comfortable ride?
- Any success finding all-season tires that handle snow in New England,
or do you recommend getting separate snow tires? If so, do you get all 4,
or just front 2?

It needs new tires, and I'd like to spend money well (duh)... thanks!
