I've used it on my Jeep Grand Cherokee on its faded dark gray plastic cladding. It works well, and appears to be permanent. I had some problems getting a uniform application, but this may have been because I was attempting to dye a gray body panel black. On my black trim pieces and door handles, it worked great.
