Oil changes V70-XC70 2000

Planning to start doing own oil changes on n/a 2000 V70 w/35,000 miles -- and switch to synthetic at same time (I have the ipd filter wrench and cartridge filter element).

Car has been meticulously maintained by dealer till now; still intend to have dealer do the major stuff at suggested intervals.

Has anyone caught any flak from dealer when doing own oil changes? Should I expect any?
