PCV Blockage 850 1997

a) Yes. It is actually quite common, especially for those that do not use a high quality synthetic such as AMSOIL or Mobil 1, extreme driving conditions, mostly short drives, stop and go driving, etc.

b) Maybe. Check Bay13, and get atleast a Haynes/Chiltons. An FSM is best, but a Haynes/Chiltons, with patience, and common sense is often enough.

c) No.

The part itself is only about $30. And $480 sounds higher than I have been quoted before. Just do it yourself. It'll take about 4-5 hours for someone who hasn't done it before, and isn't very mechanically inclined. If you've done it before, you can usually get it down to about 2-3 hours if in a rush.

BTW, this is a good time to clean out your intake.
