Rear shocks and 'control arms' 850 1995

At the moment I am replacing old crappy rear shocks with fresh Heavy Duty Bils, are there any quick steps, short-cuts that speed this? Also, our Volvo dealer dude said we need new control arms. He did not specify front/rear but did specify $550! What are they per the Haynes/Chilton. I usually do this stuff myself, but am unfamiliar with alot of suspension stuff like control arms. Where do they go? ( He said their badness was indicated by the rear wheels' abnormally extreme wear on the insides?) Any help is greatly appreciated.P.S. On the rear shocks- where do the top of the shocks mount? Do I have to pull interior trim in the rear end?
