intermittent trac/abs warning lights 850 1996

Thanks to those who offered theories a couple of weeks ago about the on again/off again problem with my tracs/abs lights.
I haven't had it looked at yet but maybe I should pretty soon... what's started to happen is that after about five minutes' operation the car makes a very strange noise...the only way I can describe it is like a cow mooing.I'm not kidding! I'm worried that it's all pointing to imminent disaster in the brake department. Has anyone else had this combination - intermittent tracs/abs light + a cow under the bonnet ('hood' to our US friends) after five minutes?
