Fog light installation - I'm going bonkers! 850 1993

Hi! This is my first post on this board. It has been a very helpful forum ever since I bought my 850 a few years back and has helped me solve many problems! Now I'm finally stumped and would need some more specific advise:

I bought an OEM fog light kit on Ebay for my 1993 850, complete with harness, connector, and Volvo instruction sheet. Ran all the wires, installed connectors, relay, etc. However, the last thing I need to do now to complete the install is to hook up a connector underneath the dash, from the control switch, to a supposedly pre-existing connector by the steering column.
Well, I cannot for my life find ANY available connector there, no matter how hard I look! I have even unwrapped parts of the wire harness to see if one might be hidden inside the bundle itself. To no avail...

Could I run my own wire to the fuse box (I believe the missing connection is simply for a 12 V switch source)?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!
Joakim
