A/C Trouble 850

I am having a problem with my A/C. I charged it up a week ago and already it's losing it's cool. I think there is a leak somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. I used a leak detector and black light, but no luck. Could it be my evaporator and if so, is there a way to recharge my A/C for at least a summer without having to replace the evaporator? The dealer quoted me on 1200+ if it's the evaporator, which seems fair, but I'd rather not spend the money for something I use a few months out of the year. If anyone has any advice, please let me know.

Thanks

- Drew
