It's misleading/contradictory V70-XC70

First, it says to "always use tires of the same size, dimensions, pressures, or else......" "Volvo strongly recommends replacing all 4 tires at the same time or else....."
Then it says (as you've pointed out) that IF only one or two tires are replaced, that the replacement tires must be mounted to the FRONT AXLE ONLY! or else......"
Now, technically THAT doesn't mean that those replacement mismatched (incorrect dimension) tires can NEVER be rotated does it? That's where it'll be a very sticky issue for you to prove fault AND the two paragraphs in the tech-net note are (to me) very misleading and contradictory in that it begins by saying that "Volvo highly recommends that all 4 tires be replaced at the same time or else.....".
IMHO, they leave some room for personal interpretation where one could argue this point one way or another.
