Commiserations 850

Just want to say commiserations. I knwo exactly how you feel - ANGRY. I live in Thailand and here every mechanic/cowboy who touches your car screws everything he touches. And things he wasn't asked to touch. And steals parts off the car.

This morning I asked an aircon "specialist" to check the pressure - sometime while I must have had my back turned he stuck his hand under and behind the kick panel and broke off two cables from the manual aircon unit. It just took me seven hours to fix it. That is just the latest story in the saga. In future I do EVERYTHING myself OR stand over the b*****ds while they work on the car.

Having read your post, I realise now why Volvo et al. recommend turning the engine over two or three times by hand before you reassemble. But it's hard to believe the world is full of these morons....

Good luck, sounds like you are well on top of things now.
