homelink on Volvos? 850

I was wondering if anyone knew when the first year for the "homelink" system was available. Not sure what the volvo guys call it but its the programmable garage door openers that usually are situated where the map lights are. Honda calls it homelink. I am hoping to instal one in my 94 and if its the same size/footprint as the current map light, a direct bolt on. thanks Ken
