Running Lights 850

I'm a little unsure of your terminology, divided as we are by a common language. On the US side of the pond, we refer to the outboard yellow light as a parking light (or a occasionally a marker light), then the low beam headlight, and the inboard light is known as high beam. Daytime running lights on US Volvos are low beam headlights (a bad idea). When we turn the tiny slotted switch, then low beam headlights will be off when the main light switch is in the off position.

You can achieve what you're trying to do, but it would help to have a clearer picture of your situation. Are you referring to so-called city lights?
