V70 windshiled replacement V70-XC70 1998

I have a crack along with bottom also. Looks light it started directly in the center, and is working it's way across the bottom towards the passenger side. The only way to see it is from outside the vehicle. I'm wondering if this is a defective windshield, or a defective install. This is my second Volvo winshield. Unfortunately I have no idea of the price, my insurance paid in full for the OEM replacement.

Does anyone know what would cause this type of crack?
