Drivers side creaking door pillar V70-XC70 1998

Dave - This weekend I located the creaking noise in the door pillar of my '98 V70R AWD. I narrowed it down to the upper right corner of the door panel or the door latch. First, I sprayed a little WD40 on the latch on the door pillar. Cleaned it off and sprayed a little more WD. Next, I sprayed the door latch on the door just enough to clean the locking mechanism. Went for a drive and the creaking noise was gone. I'm guessing the metal and plastic latches were a bit dry and made the creating noise. Hope it works for you.
