98v70 'check engine light' and rear seatbelt V70-XC70 1998

Hi all:

This weekend I was driving my Wife's v70--the check engine light came on...I usually gas it up for her once a week but hadn't lately..I asked her when the last time she gassed it up and she said a week or so ago..I had previously asked her to always make sure she tightens the cap several clicks when done. Anyhow, drove it home and took a look..sure enough the cap was very loose--anyhow will the OBD recheck the tank pressure and turn off the light or will I have to have the codes read and reset for the light to go off?

2) While changing a child safety seat in the back left position, the car's seat belt retracted into its spool and locked that way as if it were under inertia forces but it was not as it was sitting level in the garage--any ideas?

Thanks
